The CES program measures current wage and salary nonfarm employment.

Occupational Employment Statistics (OES)  link to program page

The OES program estimates occupational employment and wages.

Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW)  link to program page

The QCEW program provides a count of wage and salary employment. It is not as current as CES.

(NOTE: The CES (Current Employment Statistics) over the year employment growth estimates are based on independent state estimates. As such, CES rankings may be subject to substantial revisions at the end of the year.  QCEW (Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages) data are published about seven months after the end of a quarter and subsequent revisions are less substantial than CES.

Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD)

Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) is an innovative state/federal partnership between the Census Bureau and states. LEHD uses modern statistical and computing techniques to combine federal and state administrative data on employers and employees with core Census Bureau censuses and surveys while protecting the confidentiality of people and firms that provide the data.
